HISTORY
The youngest child of House Lireth, Isanae has lived her life beneath the excruciating standards of perfection -- and as far as she is concerned, excelled. Often directed to the example of her eldest sister, Amaeyra, Isanae has pushed herself her entire life to meet the high standards set by her family -- particularly her father -- and for the most part, suceeded well enough to earn few rebukes; high praise, by Lireth standards.

She threw herself into her lessons from the start, meticulously studying history, numbers, literature and language right alongsdie proper pursits for a lady -- needlework, embroidery, and the like, excelling at all, save one thing: magic. Though her lack of talent in this area was a cause for much concern throughout her youth, she seemed to recover from the blow quickly, throwing herself into swordplay instead, head held high all the while. She quickly established herself as a formidable fencer, learning all of the forms and techniques with perceived ease, and was soon besting knights her age -- and older.

Most of her childhood was spent this way, spending her time at her studies and swordwork, striving and starving for praise she would never receive.

Then, her eldest brother slew her father, and her entire world changed.

Having long suspected Hasten and Amaeyra of plotting in secret, she soon discovered that they intended to entreat the crown for leave to send Amaeyra to Eblar, to court the Crown Prince Ian and one day wed him, so as to escape their Father's plan to wed her to Tarmon of Emeron. Knowing her father would be incensed at their attempt to undermine his authority, she informed him at once of their plans, and in the resulting confrontation, Hasten slew Lord Elmudd in a fit of rage -- and successfully disguised his actions with Amaeyra's help to make it seem as though Elmudd of Lireth had been trampled to death, in a freak stampede.

Though Isanae strongly suspects the truth, she knew at once that she could not hope to prove her suspicions without definitive proof, and so retreated into herself, terrified that Hasten would learn it was her that informed on them in the first place. Her resentment toward her brother only increased when he announced soon after assuming the title of Lord of Lireth that not only would Amaeyra not wed Lord Tarmon, but that Isanae would be sent to Emeron in her place. Though she was sent under the guise of studying alongside Lady Canti -- a younger sister of Lord Tarmon also suffering from difficulties harnessing her magical ability -- her true purpose was made painfully clear.

Incensed, Isanae accepted her fate with grace -- recognizing she had little choice in the matter -- and has since arrived in Emeron, intent on courting and wedding Tarmon ... but that is where her plan and Hasten's lose everything they have in common. Since putting thousands of miles between herself and Hasten, she has regained her confidence and operates with a renewed sense of purpose, determined to rise as high as she can ... determined that Hasten will not tower over her forever.



PERSONALITY
Isanae is soft spoken, demure, polite, smart as a whip, and every inch a proper noblewoman. She is also impossibly haughty, consdescending, somewhat bratty, and has a razor sharp wit famous for cutting while never leaving a mark. Everything she says is perfectly proper, and yet to the observant, often carries an undertone of her lesser advertised qualities.

She always considered her father's treatment of her and her siblings a necessary thing, and while she yearns for praise, she has buried that yearning so far down she herself would deny it and never think herself a liar. Though she puts on a friendly face and conducts herself magnificently in social situations, she does not actively seek companionship, preferring to be alone, particularly since her father's death. She is somewhat paranoid, especially when it comes to Hasten, though she has become rather good at ensuring her fears do not adversely affect her decision making. She is shrewd, calculating, and cunning, and quickly growing from a girl to be admired into a woman to be feared.

She has few close friends; Felicia of Mansoure, now her goodsister through her marriage to Hasten, and Lady Canti of Emeron are her closest, and even them, she looks down upon and distances to some extent. She is remarkably bitter about her lack of magical ability, and continues to strive to remedy it, alongside everything else.



APPEARANCE
Isanae has grown from a pretty child into a rather stunning young woman. Her hair is platinum blonde, and falls past her waist in length. Her eyes are deep violet, ruthlessly intelligent, and famously adept at mocking their object of intention even while she speaks in sincere, soft-spoke tones. She sports sharp, proud features, an increasingly alluring figure -- well honed by long hours spent often on the practice yard, training with her knights -- and she wears a constant expression of polite bemusement, pretending to be oblivious to the attentions her appearance wins her. Her build borders on slight, though she is well-muscled and much stronger than she looks.
